马启 · Cross-Border Lawyer in Shenzhen
Former UN peacekeeping officer · LL.M. (International Investment Law) · Fully bilingual (English / Chinese). Two-way cross-border practice: helping Chinese companies go global safely, and helping foreign investors enter China smoothly.
A cross-border lawyer fluent in both language and rules
I am Marshall Qi, a lawyer at Zhonglun Wende HPC (Qianhai) Joint Law Firm in Shenzhen. Before becoming a lawyer, I served 21 years in the military and participated in two UN peacekeeping missions. After retiring, I earned an LL.M. from Sun Yat-sen University Law School, majoring in international investment law, passed the PRC bar exam in 2023, and obtained my practicing certificate in 2025.
This path gives me two unique advantages: real on-the-ground knowledge of overseas environments — I know the operating and security realities of Africa and the Middle East from my peacekeeping years, which is exactly the practical judgment Chinese companies need when going global; and seamless language capability — with over 4 million words of Chinese-English translation behind me, I draft contracts and negotiate directly in English, with no loss in translation.
